Our Story

The History of the James B. Schwab Co.

The James B. Schwab Co. was founded in 1951. Based in Falconer, NY, James B. Schwab incorporated our company in 1952.

James Schwab’s business philosophy reflected his background in service. He considered good customer service the single most effective way to build and nurture his accounts. The fact that our customer base includes people who have come to us for 50+ years testifies to the validity of this vision. The Schwab Co. is proud to carry on this tradition today.

Evolving Product Offerings

James Schwab also had the foresight to add product lines to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Originally an AB Dick dealership, the Schwab Co. later acquired products by such superb manufacturers as Ricoh and Kyocera Mita. See our Technology Partners page for more details.

Continuing—and Growing—Our Tradition

Our company expanded into new territories and growth opportunities over time, opening a second office in Erie, PA in 1983. The second generation of family ownership came of age as well, with brothers James Jr. and Dennis taking over the company.

The Schwab Co. continues to flourish by following the same business ethics and concepts practiced by James Schwab Sr. Our products and services give you the most value for your dollar and increase your competitive edge.

What We Do at Schwab Co.

Technology constantly changes and evolves. The Schwab Co. understands this, which is why our service techs receive ongoing education and training. By investing in our personnel in ways like these, we continue to guarantee their excellent performance in the field.

Also, the Schwab Co. employs a software package exclusive to office equipment dealerships. We run daily reports to monitor:

  • Parts Consumption
  • Back Order Statuses
  • Incoming Service Calls
  • Priority Call Statuses
  • Excessive Equipment Servicing

By collecting all of this information, we can navigate our constantly changing daily service schedule. This software also:

  • Allows for flexibility in dispatching
  • Generates reports for evaluating device productivity
  • Collect information on machine performance
